World of Chess - Boy Chess Champ To Visit England
Robert Fischer, 14-year-old wonder-boy as winner of three major championships including the U.S. Open, has elected to attend the annual Christmas Chess Congress at Hastings, England. He will be matched with the masters invited by the tourney committee.
To play in England he must forego entry in the U.S. championships and the American Chess Federation tourney because of time conflict.
In the fall ratings it seems hardly possible that young Fischer can be styled less than a Master. His plans to play in Moscow were postponed until he can meet the Russian tournament schedules.
