Two Share Lead In U.S. Open: Fischer and Donald Byrne Tied for First Place
Cleveland, Aug. 15 [Special]—Donald Byrne of Ann Arbor, Mich., took another point today in the tenth round of the open tournament of the United States Chess federation. The former Yale star played the black pieces and defeated Orest Popovych of Lakewood, N. J.
Bobby Fischer of Brooklyn was held to a draw by Robert Byrne of Indianapolis, Donald's older brother. Fischer and Donald Byrne are tied for first place at 8½-1½.
