14-Year-Old Boy Captures Chess Title
Cleveland, Aug. 17 — (INS) — A 14-year-old Brooklyn, New York, boy is the youngest person to ever hold the U.S. Open Chess Federation championship.
The prodigy, Bobby Fischer, won the title although he was tied at 19-game points with Arthur B. Bisguier, 26, the former champion.
The two split $1,500.
